Ambitious about Autism (the “Charity”)   

Conditions of entry to Manchester to London ride 2025 (the “Event”)   

  1. You enter the Event entirely at your own risk and the Charity shall not be liable for any injury or loss which you may suffer or incur as a result of your participation in the Event unless such injury or loss is incurred as a result of the Charity’s negligence.  
  2. The Charity takes all reasonable steps to minimise the risk of injury to participants during fundraising events. There is a stringent risk assessment process in place for every event. However, by taking part in this Event, you acknowledge that there may be conditions or circumstances which are beyond the Charity’s control, and which can lead to unforeseen risks. If you have any concerns or queries, please contact the Charity before agreeing to take part in this Event.  
  3. You must abide by the rules, instructions and regulations provided by the Charity’s staff and contracted agencies, Event officials and police from time to time.  
  4. If you are unsure of your physical ability to take part, you should seek medical advice from a general practitioner prior to the Event. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are medically fit to participate, and it is extremely important that you are realistic and truthful about your capabilities and level of experience. By agreeing to enter the Event you represent that you are medically fit and well to take part.  
  5. You acknowledge that any medical or personal information you give to the Charity may be used to treat or assist you in the event of any illness or injury that you sustain during the Event. Any data or information given under this clause will only be used in accordance with the provisions of data protection legislation currently in force. 
  6. You agree to receive email updates and calls from Ambitious about Autism relating to your entry in the 2025 Manchester to London cycle ride. You will also be given the option to join the Team Ambitious M2L WhatsApp groups, administered by the charity. 

  7. You aim to pledge a minimum of £1,000. This donation amount is exclusive of Gift Aid and should be paid to the Charity no later than Sunday 27th July 2025. Places in the Manchester to London cycle ride bear a significant cost to the charity which means that we have to set a target which covers this expense and provides a donation to the charity. The Charity may withdraw a place if, at any time, in its absolute discretion, it considers that you are not committed to raising this pledge amount. Your registration fee is non-refundable and confirms you are taking one of our charity places at this event.
  8. If you withdraw from the event for any reason, you must notify the Charity by email events@ambitiousaboutautism.org.uk at your earliest convenience. You must also notify your sponsors that you are withdrawing from the event.If you do have to withdraw and have started raising sponsorship money, the Charity will endeavor to defer your place to the 2026 event but will be under no obligation to do so. If your place gets rolled over to the following year, you must commit to the 2026 entry and sponsorship requirements, which may have changed from 2025. There will be an administrative fee of £30 to defer your place by one year. Alternatively, if you cannot take part in the ride, you can transfer your place to another rider. This can be done free of charge.
  9. You must pass exclusively to the Charity all monies raised in connection with the Event, within one month of the Event date. You can:  
    1. Pay online using your fundraising page 
    2. Donate via the Ambitious about Autism website
  10. The Charity is unable to accept your sponsorship money on the day of the Event.  
  11. You must be a minimum of 18 years of age on event day to participate in this Event. 
  12. Spectators, including your supporters and family members, watch the Event entirely at their own risk and the Charity shall not be liable for any injury or loss which a spectator might suffer or incur, unless such injury or loss is caused by the Charity’s negligence.  
  13. All transfers to and from the venue are at your own expense. You will be given specific guidance about whether food and drink are provided at the Event.  
  14. You will be given a tracker at registration, the day before the ride. You will be asked to pay a deposit of £50. This will be re-credited to your card when you return the tracker at the end of the ride. Failure to return the tracker may mean a loss of the £50 deposit.
  15. The Charity is a member of the Fundraising Standards Board and is committed to best fundraising practice.   16. In fundraising for the Charity you agree:
    1. To submit at the end of your fundraising all sponsor forms if used; 
    2. Not to reproduce the Charity’s logo without permission; 
    3. Not to collect in a private place without first obtaining the permission of the owner;  
    4. Not to collect in a public place without first obtaining the appropriate collector’s licence from the local authority;  
    5. Not to raise funds by carrying out house-to-house collections;  
    6. Not to do anything to bring the Charity’s name into disrepute;  
    7. To keep the Charity informed of any changes to your contact details.   
  17. By taking part in this event, you acknowledge that the Charity will communicate with you via email for the purposes of updating you on event information and fundraising for the event, as well as the option to join information webinars and in-person training rides.   18. By taking part in the Event, you confirm that you are happy for your name and any footage or photographs taken during your participation in the Event to be used to publicise the Charity’s work, including television broadcasts, advertising and marketing.
  19. You agree to be bound by these Conditions which are subject to English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
