Why I’m Fundraising: Leaving My Fears Behind to Make a Difference
For years, I’ve contemplated starting a fundraiser to support those in need, but I've always held back. I worried that I wouldn’t meet the fundraising targets or that my efforts wouldn’t be ‘big or crazy enough’ to capture people’s attention. I often found myself comparing my ideas to what others were doing, which only fueled my fears of falling short.
But recently, I’ve had a breakthrough. I realized that these fears—of not being good enough, of failing—are rooted in self-doubt, not in the cause I care so deeply about. The truth is, my desire to help others far outweighs my fear of failure. It’s not about how grand the event is; it’s about making a real difference in someone’s life, no matter how big or small the impact.
So, I’m done letting fear dictate my actions. I’ve decided to give it my all, knowing that even raising just £100 could significantly better someone’s life.
On Sunday, 22 June 2025, I’ll be cycling 220 miles in a single day, starting in Manchester and finishing in London. This ride represents more than just physical endurance—it's a journey of leaving my limits behind to raise vital funds for Ambitious about Autism.
Ambitious about Autism is a national charity dedicated to standing with autistic children and young people. They champion their rights, campaign for meaningful change, and create life-changing opportunities for these young people and their families.
Please join me in this effort. Together, we can make a difference—one mile, one donation, and one life at a time.
