Please support my Ambitious Challenge!

I’m taking part in the Rapha Ambitious Manchester to London bike ride. I will be taking on 220 miles in one day on Sunday 23 June and leaving my limits behind to raise funds for Ambitious about Autism.

I had a late diagnose of Autism in the last few years. Cycling has helped me immensely, it gives me the freedom to be myself, a break from stresses and anxieties and is now my passion in life. Having support as a child and young person with my Autism would have had a big impact on my life, without it I have struggled with my mental health and finding my path in life. I hope to raise awareness so that children and young people are all supported to live fulfilling and happy lives.

Ambitious about Autism want to help create a world where autistic children and young people are heard, included and supported.

Just £20 can contribute towards a family support worker for an autistic young person. This could allow Ambitious about Autism to provide telephone support to a family in crisis on matters such as welfare, health, and legal support.

Please donate to support my challenge. Thank you so much!

My Updates

Autism Awareness Week

Wednesday 3rd Apr
To try and raise awareness for Autism Awareness Week I wanted to do a ride that pushed my limits. Not just physically but to see how I would cope with some of the aspects of my Autism I struggle a lot with. I like having a plan and structure, knowing where I can get food and where I will be sleeping! I don’t cope well with the unexpected and the when things go wrong and am prone to meltdowns.

I’m going to be setting off on a solo gravel ride today, wild camping for the first time. It’s the most daunting ride I’ve ever done due to the unknown aspects. Hopefully I will finish it but going to take it easy and try and be kind to myself and my body! If you would like to sponsor me please use this sponsorship page 🙂.

For more info on how autism has effected me and to follow my cycling journey please see my blog www.ultrafiona.com
