Ambitious about Autism (the “Charity”)
Conditions of entry to Manchester to London ride 2026 (the “Event”)
- You enter the Event entirely at your own risk and the Charity shall not be liable for any injury or loss which you may suffer or incur as a result of your participation in the Event unless such injury or loss is incurred as a result of the Charity’s negligence.
- The Charity takes all reasonable steps to minimise the risk of injury to participants during fundraising events. There is a stringent risk assessment process in place for every event. However, by taking part in this Event, you acknowledge that there may be conditions or circumstances which are beyond the Charity’s control, and which can lead to unforeseen risks. If you have any concerns or queries, please contact the Charity before agreeing to take part in this Event.
- You must keep the Charity informed of any changes to your contact details. This also includes your emergency contact details.
- You must abide by the rules, instructions and regulations provided by the Charity’s staff and contracted agencies, Event officials and police from time to time.
- If you are unsure of your physical ability to take part, you should seek medical advice from a general practitioner prior to the Event. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are medically fit to participate, and it is extremely important that you are realistic and truthful about your capabilities and level of experience. By agreeing to enter the Event you represent that you are medically fit and well to take part.
- You acknowledge that any medical or personal information you give to the Charity may be used to treat or assist you in the event of any illness or injury that you sustain during the Event. Any data or information given under this clause will only be used in accordance with the provisions of data protection legislation currently in force.
- You agree to receive email updates and calls from Ambitious about Autism relating to your entry in the 2026 Manchester to London cycle ride. You will also be given the option to join the Team Ambitious M2L WhatsApp groups, administered by the charity.
- You pledge to raise a minimum of £1,000. This donation amount is exclusive of Gift Aid and should be paid to the Charity no later than Wednesday 26 August 2026. We ask that you raise 30% of your pledge (£300) by 31 May 2026. If you have not raised the full amount by this date, you may be liable to cover the remaining sponsorship yourself and we hold the right to retract the offer of one of our charity places. Places in the Manchester to London cycle ride bear a significant cost to the charity which means that we have to set a target which covers this expense and provides a donation to the charity. The Charity may withdraw a place if, at any time, in its absolute discretion, it considers that you are not committed to raising this pledged amount. Your registration fee is non-refundable and confirms you are taking one of our charity places at this event.
- If you withdraw from the event for any reason, you must notify the Charity by email events@ambitiousaboutautism.org.uk at your earliest convenience. You must return to the sponsors all sponsorship monies which are conditional upon your completing the Event, unless the relevant sponsor agrees that such monies may be donated to the Charity. If you do have to withdraw and have started raising sponsorship money, the Charity will endeavor to defer your place to the 2027 event but will be under no obligation to do so. If your place gets rolled over to the following year, you must commit to the 2027 entry and sponsorship requirements, which may have changed from 2026. There will be an administrative fee of £30 to defer your place by one year. Alternatively, if you cannot take part in the ride, you can transfer your place to another rider. This can be done free of charge.
- You must pass exclusively to the Charity all monies raised in connection with the Event, within two months of the Event date. You can:
- Pay online using your fundraising page
- Donate via the Ambitious about Autism website
- The Charity is unable to accept your sponsorship money on the day of the Event.
