My Updates

Manchester to London - 354km (220 miles)

Monday 23rd Jun
Challenge completed! A lovely day out with some fantastic people and the terrific AAA crew. Great organisation and a lovely route.

BHF London to Brighton 2025 (and 1/2 way back) - 123km

Wednesday 18th Jun
Nice closed roads to Brighton and then back - only made it half way back as my left knee starting hurting (potential disaster as a week to go to Manchester to London - fingers firmly crossed now...).

Peak loops - 81km

Wednesday 18th Jun
Sunny, windy and rainy ride with my brother in the Peak District

London-Cambridge-London - 216km (134 miles)

Sunday 1st Jun
A big one - quite warm too. Eight and a half hours or thereabouts.

London to Margate - 155km (96 miles)

Sunday 25th May
First big ride after three weeks off with flu - quite hard work but legs felt ok in the end.

London to Brighton - 100km

Saturday 24th May
Work scuppered my plans to do the Pan Celtic Gravel Rally, but I managed to squeeze in a fast 100km to Brighton (3.5 hours).

Tempo and some intervals - 60km

Saturday 24th May
Didn't have time for a long ride as planned so did some higher intensity work on a short training loop.

Downs Link (and a crash) - 60km

Saturday 19th Apr
Gravel ride from Guildford to Shoreham by sea. Intention was to about face and do the return leg as well for 120km in total but crashed heavily not far from Shoreham so bailed and got train home. Cuts and bruises and trashed helmet :(

A Day in Kent - 160km (100 miles)

Wednesday 16th Apr
A tribute to Paris-Roubaix (Day in Hell) - a great circuit from Ramsgate - Canterbury - Ashford - Dover - Sandwich - Ramsgate. Great weather again and plotted the loop so I could ride back with a tailwind. First imperial century ride of the year.

Tour of Flanders 2025 - 128km

Wednesday 16th Apr
Am amazing day on the cobbles on my favourite annual event - weather in the mid 20s, ride went well, my right knee held up, and I got to watch the pros do their thing the following day

Ride Wessex Downs 2025 - 116km

Wednesday 16th Apr
Amazing weather for the time of year - worryingly my right knee 'popped' at the top of the final climb only a few hundred metres from the finish...

Old stomping grounds - 75km

Wednesday 16th Apr

Kentish Killer 2025 - 112km

Wednesday 16th Apr
Kentish Killer - 112km and all is well. Great fun starting and finishing on the Brands Hatch circuit - very nice weather

Hell of the Ashdown 2025 - 100km

Wednesday 16th Apr
Hell of the Ashdown 2025 - 100km and thankfully no rain. Unlike last year my knee held up and I didn't injure myself, which is a start!
