I’m taking part in the Rapha Ambitious 220 challenge. I will be taking on 220 miles in June and leaving my limits behind to raise funds for Ambitious about Autism, who want to help create a world where autistic children and young people are heard, included and supported. Please donate to support my challenge. Thank you so much!

Race report

Sunday 2nd Jul

After a great start smashing up Buxton old road better than usual i made the first stop to find the water had run out!
I set off on my own to find water at a petrol station and was caught up by my 1st group.
The heat started to get me and i got dropped by my group, but arrived at Boswell with some Manchester friends.
After Boswell it got very hot 🥵 and
I stopped for a lime and soda at a pub at about 3pm and then picked up a couple of electrolyte tabs from a support car which brought me back to life!
At Sywell everyone was really flaked out with the heat. I inhaled some great fish and chips and a gallon of iced water 💦
I joined another group which included my previous years riding group members including legends Simon Mottram and Charlie Tames, it was an honour to ride the last 2 stages in the same group as last year. My legs had recovered well and i powered ahead on my own to the finish!

Tracker i’m number 43!

Saturday 24th Jun

Thanks for sponsoring tomorrow 6:15 kickoff!

Easy week

Wednesday 21st Jun
This week is all about not overdoing it so my legs are fully recovered from my over training!
Looking forward to a long day riding through England in the sun with a tailwind! ☀️
Thanks for all your sponsorship so far!

Rest week!

Monday 5th Jun
After a 5 wk block of 200 mile weeks I’m having an easy week before a huge ride into north Wales on 10/6 https://ridewithgps.com/routes/42298165 followed by another two wks easy, i should be fully recovered for the ride to London.
I’ve managed to shift 3kg of fat by eating between 12pm and 8pm also cutting the wine and beer to minimum… some way off my ideal hill climbing weight of 85kg…

Sponsorship is a little off target so please sponsor just a small amount if you can it all adds up to help Autistic kids.
Many thanks

Snake Shrines Moss

Monday 22nd May
At last with some really sunny weather i set off at 6:20am for my favourite long ride on my own.
It was a perfect morning out, reaching the top of Snake Pass by 9:10am felt great, and i was home by 2:30pm.

Last year i suffered on the hills even though I’d done plenty of training and the group pace was no harder than an easy club ride, maybe i was just not recovered enough… this year I’m not going repeat same thing. So extra hills over the next few weeks.
All sponsorship massively appreciated! Thank you 🤗

Training in full swing!

Thursday 11th May
Training is progressing well for this this year’s Manchester to London fundraiser ride for Ambitious about Autism on June 25. It seems like yesterday since I was posting about last years event!
If you’re able to to sponsor me it means a lot and every donation goes to help a very vulnerable section of society.
Thanks again!

Thank you to my Sponsors
