My target 220 mi

This is a one-day challenge—but for many families, the challenge lasts a lifetime.

On June 28th, I’ll be riding 220 miles (350 km) from Manchester to London in a single day.

It’s a tough ride—physically and mentally. But it’s nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by autistic young people and their families.

I took up cycling later in life, and at 66, it’s become a real passion. Through that, I’ve also become more aware of neurodiversity—especially autism—and the importance of better understanding and support.

That’s why I’m supporting Ambitious about Autism, a charity providing vital education and services to young people and their families. Since this ride began, it has raised over £3.5 million and continues to grow each year.

Every rider taking part is aiming to raise £1,000—so that’s my target too.

If you’re able to support, any donation—big or small—will genuinely help and will keep me going when it gets tough.

Thank you.

Even more M2L training miles in the Cotswolds…

Thursday 30th Apr
115 miles/4650ft - my longest ride ever!
David suggested the route and today was nearly the perfect day to tack it solo.
Familiar route out for the first 40 miles to Chipping Norton. Then a glorious section through villages I had never heard off, through Bourton-on-the-water and on to Burford. Unfortunately the last 3rd became increasingly affected by the easterly head wind and it became a real fight to get back to Thame 😩
