This is for you Margot and Gigi...

I am taking part in this bike ride for my beautiful, Autistic, daughters - Margot 6 and Gigi 4. Every mile cycled is for them.

Autism is rarely a stand alone disability and it is common to also experience chronic illness and have multiple disabilities - as we have learnt with Margot and Gigi.

We have experienced the many barriers for Autistic people that stand in the way of being able to access what many of us take for granted. This is especially tough to witness for your own children.

Our experience has been one of crisis and burnout for both Margot and Gigi, witnessing two incredible, full of life children unable to leave the house for months at a time and becoming physically unwell from the effects of Autistic burnout. Autism isn't an 'invisible disability' for us and affects every aspect of their day to day life.

As a family, our wish is that the money raised for this ride creates awareness, reduces judgement and gives Autistic children the support and opportunities that they deserve - to thrive.

It is an honour to be raising money for an amazing charity who  'stand with Autistic children and young people so that they can be themselves' - this is everything I could want for Margot and Gigi - so that they know they are perfect exactly the way they are.

I will be cycling 220 miles in a single day on Sunday 22 June 2025. Starting in Manchester and finishing in London, I'll be leaving my limits behind to raise vital funds for Ambitious about Autism.

Ambitious about Autism is the national charity standing with autistic children and young people. They champion rights, campaign for change and create opportunities for autistic young people and their families.
