Please support my Ambitious challenge!

On Sunday 28 June 2026 I will ride 220 miles in a single day from Manchester to London.  This will be the second time I've taken on this challenge, but that does not make it any easier. It's a true test of endurance, a journey that demands everything, and gives back more.

I am taking on the Ambitious 220 Challenge to raise funds for Ambitious about Autism, the national charity standing with autistic children and young people.

Too often autistic young people are unheard, unsupported, or shut out of opportunities. That can change. Every mile and every turn of the pedals helps create a world where autistic children and young people are accepted for who they are and given the chance to realise their ambitions.

This is more than a ride. This has purpose.

If you can, please consider donating and join me in standing with autistic children and young people.

My Updates

T-7 days, This time next week...

Sunday 21st Jun
The training is done, the bike is ready, my body is as ready as it's going to be and importantly the mind is ready.   This time next week I hope to be somewhere near Flitwick, Beds about 270km in with about 80km remaining.

Although June hasn't exactly gone to plan from a training perspective, I've had some great family times & had some milestone birthday celebrations, these have actually been a welcome break from long training rides.   The good news is my back has recovered and the two solid training blocks from Feb to May feel like enough to see me over the line.

Hopefully the heat we're currently experiencing will have eased and it stays dry.

28 days to go

Monday 1st Jun
It was a slow start to training this year, a bout of flu in January & poor weather prevented me getting the start I wanted.

My goal was to follow the same training plan as 2025 but at the beginning of Feb I was already 200 Km short of my plan.

Thankfully things picked up & I started to get some longer rides in starting with 100km & building towards 200km & then 300km.

I’m pleased to say I’ve been able to stick to my ride training plan. I completed a 200km ride from Bromsgrove to London in April and few weeks ago a loop from home to the Chilterns & back was just under 300km.

My strength & core program isn’t where it needs to be & this is one of the reasons I’m struggling to lose the last 5kg to get to my target weight.

With just 28 days remaining until I’m at the start line in Manchester my focus is on diet & sorting my lower back which started hurting yesterday after my penultimate training ride.

Thanks for your support.
